Picture of Our Story

It all started with one rose. Ironically for the love story of two millennials, Mia and Lance met the old fashioned way, a little tossed and sauced one night out in New York City. Mia was celebrating her birthday with her girlfriends, and Lance was prowling the scene with his Arizona buddies in their new town.

Mia’s night began at her long time favorite restaurant, Telly’s Taverna, in Astoria. *Shout out to the owner Diana* who hosted the group of gals (and Max) and gave Mia a bouquet of flowers for her birthday. After hours of drinking greek house wine and inhaling the best of the best greek food, the girls realized they were already an hour late to their scheduled drag show. Instead, Meg (bridesmaid), proposed the girls take on their own adventure, daring Mia to hand out roses from Diana’s bouquet of flowers to worthy bachelors. With some heavy liquid courage involved, Mia agreed and the girls began their journey to the famous stomping ground for early 20-somethings, Dream Baby.

Lance describes his night beginning as “just another night out with the boys, ripping shots and mackin’ on babes”. The boys ended up stumbling across Dream Baby, and after seeing all the 20-something babes in line, thought they’d give the spot a go.

*Enter Mia*, with a stash of unused roses, who walked by Lance and slyly (or probably not so slyly) stuck a rose in his shirt pocket. After some serious debating whether or not Mia was an ACTUAL bachelorette, Lance took the plunge and approached Mia (naturally at the bar).

And so, the night of the rose kick started the couple into their relationship full of adventure. On their second date, Mia mentioned she was due to fly to London for a work trip and would be gone for 12 weeks. Lance responded “I’ve never been to London before”. The couple continued their love story, spending their fourth date in London. On their trip Lance decided Mia wasn't so hard to live with, and maybe it was time to get the families involved (because of course he needed the Bagby seal of approval before making it official with Mia).

December rolled around and Mia and Lance took off for Lance’s hometown, San Diego. After his mothers approval, Lance decided it was time to take Mia off the market. Fast forward three months later, the two returned to San Diego in March 2020 for a quick four day vacation that quickly turned into nine weeks with Lance's family of ten under one roof. If there was ever a relationship test, this was it, and the two passed with flying colors.

After nine fun (and extremely loud) weeks, the couple returned to Rhode Island to Mia’s parents house (a slightly less loud environment) and spent the summer planting succulents together, while Mia planted ideas of adopting a puppy. Later that summer, the two traveled to Greece to Mia’s fathers country of origin for their first vacation together.

Shortly after returning from Greece, Lance finally gave in to adopting a pup, now known as the couple's “little monster” or formally known as Tobi. And that wasn’t the only big change the couple made that month. They decided it was about time to test out the “west coast best coast” lifestyle everyone was bragging about, and dove into the ultimate adventure of moving in together and creating a bicoastal lifestyle.

A few months later, Lance convinced Mia she needed a vacation in the height of a busy season at work. Mia agreed, and the two took off for another adventure, a five day road trip up the west coast of California. On day two in Big Sur, Lance made a BIG gesture, and got down on one knee to seal the deal, making Mia his forever bachelorette. The rest is history.
